The Customer Journey Expert (Product Owner) role at ING focuses on delivering customer-centric savings solutions by bridging business and IT priorities. This position drives product strategy and agile delivery within the Savings Tribe to enhance customer experience and business value.

Responsibilities include managing the product backlog, prioritizing initiatives based on customer value, and ensuring compliance with risk and regulatory requirements.

The role requires strong stakeholder management, collaboration in Agile Scrum teams, and experience with savings or banking products. Candidates should have over 5 years of Agile experience, fluency in Dutch and English, and a relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree.

As a Customer Journey Expert (Product Owner) within the Savings Tribe, you are responsible for shaping and delivering customer-centric savings solutions that create value for both customers and ING. You act as the bridge between Business and IT, translating customer needs, business objectives, and strategic priorities into clear and actionable product improvements.

Working within a multidisciplinary distributed Agile Scrum team, you collaborate closely with Developers, Customer Journey Experts, Architects, and stakeholders to define, prioritize, and deliver solutions that improve the customer experience and drive business outcomes. You own the product backlog, set priorities based on customer and business value, and ensure the team focuses on delivering the highest-impact initiatives.

In addition, you define and communicate the product vision and roadmap, align stakeholders around strategic objectives, and make informed decisions that balance customer needs, regulatory requirements, technical feasibility, and business value.

  • Product Strategy & Delivery
    • Define and maintain the product roadmap and prioritize the product backlog.
    • Translate business and customer needs into clear requirements, epics, and user stories.
    • Work with the team to deliver valuable solutions for customers.
    • Track progress and ensure the team delivers quality outcomes.
  • Customer Value & Prioritization
    • Keep customer value at the centre of product decisions.
    • Use data, customer feedback, and insights to support decisions.
    • Set clear priorities and make trade-offs when needed.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Business, Technology, Risk, and Compliance.
    • Align stakeholders on priorities, roadmap decisions, and delivery plans.
    • Communicate clearly and manage expectations at all levels of the organisation.
    • Facilitate discussions and help stakeholders reach decisions when priorities differ.
  • Team & Ways of Working
    • Set clear direction and priorities for the team.
    • Support a collaborative and results-driven team environment.
    • Encourage continuous improvement and effective Agile ways of working.
    • Help the team remove blockers and stay focused on delivery.
  • Risk & Compliance
    • Ensure solutions meet risk, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
    • Consider customer, business, and regulatory needs when making decisions.
    • Identify and address risks that may affect delivery or customer outcomes.

Eisen

  • 5+ years of experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and multidisciplinary environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working with senior stakeholders.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT or a related field.
