The role ensures that the departments priorities, standards, learning initiatives, and guidance are translated into clear communication, effective stakeholder engagement, and coordinated execution, thereby supporting CAEOs mission across subjects such as Sustainable IT, Learning & Development for engineering, architecture & engineering policies and procedures, and enterprise architecture guidance.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a department-wide communication and engagement approach for CAEO.

  • Translate departmental strategy, priorities, roadmaps, standards, and initiatives into clear and consistent messages for relevant target groups.
  • Ensure coherent positioning of CAEO topics across internal and, where relevant, external communication channels.
  • Support the department in strengthening awareness, understanding, and adoption of key CAEO themes, including Sustainable IT, Learning & Development for engineering, architecture & engineering policies and procedures, and enterprise architecture guidance.

Internal Responsibilities

Visibility, Adoption and Change Support
  • Increase the visibility of CAEO priorities and services within CITO and, where relevant, across the wider bank.

  • Ensure that content developed within CAEO reaches the right audiences at the right time through the appropriate channels.
  • Safeguard consistency in tone, messaging, timing, and positioning across the departments portfolio.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Participate in and contribute to relevant internal forums, communities, and cross-functional consultations.
  • Support the maintenance of a stakeholder landscape and establish strong working relationships with key partners, including:
    • Business managers and department leadership
    • Communication and change professionals
    • Learning & Development stakeholders
    • Engineering, policy, and architecture subject-matter experts

Learning and Development Coordination
  • Act as a connector between CAEO priorities and Learning & Development initiatives for engineering and related disciplines.

  • Support the coordination of learning-related plans and engagement activities for departmental themes, including planning, stakeholder alignment, follow-up, and visibility.
  • Ensure coherence across learning-related communication and engagement efforts, while content ownership remains with the relevant subject-matter experts.
Events, Communities and Departmental Initiatives
  • Support and coordinate department-wide events, knowledge sessions, communities, campaigns, and roadshows.
  • Help ensure that CAEO themes are structurally represented on relevant internal agendas and platforms.

External Responsibilities

External Positioning and Representation
  • Support the external visibility of CAEO themes and expertise in relevant professional networks, events, and collaborations.
  • Contribute to positioning the department as a credible and coordinated source of expertise on architecture, engineering, standards, and learning-related topics.
External Communication and Collaboration
  • Work in alignment with Corporate Affairs, communication professionals, and relevant spokespeople where external communication is required.
  • Contribute to thought leadership materials, external publications, and collaborations where these support departmental objectives.
Knowledge Sharing and Capability Building
  • Enable broader understanding of CAEO topics by supporting knowledge-sharing across the department and the wider organization.
  • Help connect expertise areas and create visibility for the departments contribution to engineering excellence, architectural guidance, policy implementation, and continuous development.

Role Boundaries

  • This role does not replace subject-matter ownership within engineering, architecture, policy, Sustainable IT or Learning & Development teams.
  • This role is not accountable for drafting technical standards, policies, or architectural content, but for supporting their communication, positioning, coordination, and adoption.
  • This role does not replace formal corporate communication functions, but works in partnership with them where required.
  • This role is not a general administrative support function, but a dedicated professional role focused on communication, engagement, and coordination across CAEO.
